I'm a Diva??? I guess that's possible...I mean, I am successful both in my career and now as a mother! I "grew" and gave birth (naturally, by the way) to a healthy and beautiful baby girl over a year ago. I have a wonderful job where I am respected and praised for my accomplishments, and I have been married for 10 years, which in itself is a success!
Glamorous?? Now that's a different story....like all women I always want to look my best! I strive to be well-dressed, professional, and sexy all on a budget. Sometimes I find that difficult especially post-baby. I mean, who has time to make sure their hair is done perfectly, or their make-up isn't smudged, or even worse, there's no snot or spit-up on your shirt??
AHHHH....DivasNBabes to the rescue! Not only can I look great and feel comfortable, but I can display my personality. I love how simple, yet fantastic these clothes make me feel (and look!). I love when people look at me and wonder....As for my babe....well, she is usually the center of attention anyways, but even more so when she is sporting a cool, funky, or humorous shirt! I love when people comment on how cute she looks in her clothes, and when people ask me, "Where on Earth did you GET that??" It's so much fun being unique, but it's more fun to be noticed!!
So yes, I guess I AM a Diva! Welcome to Diva-hood!

My one and only daughter is almost 11 months old. From the beginning I have been a mom who loves to hold her baby. Ever since she was born, I've been holding her and following the attachment parenting philosophy. Slings and baby carrying devices are high on my priority list of how to live with baby close by. I got a sling for my baby shower which was nice and gave me a good idea of how to wear my baby, but it just didn't seem to be as comfortable as I'd like and it wasn't very pretty. I also used a Baby Bjorn Carrier which lasted for a few hours but afterwards my shoulders really seemed to hurt me. When Tonjia showed me her slings and Mei Tais I was SOLD!! Fist of all they're beautiful - the other carriers I've seen and used are functional but not pretty in the least. I use my polka dotted sling carrier from the moment Megan wakes up all throughout the day. (I must admit, it has lots of spills and goo on it and it washes out easily in the sink with some mild soap. Gotta be practical - things get dirty with a baby!) It is the simplest way to be close to your baby and not hurt your arms and hands holding her on your own. The sling carrier is like having that extra, third hand you always thought you needed. It's great for quick trips in and out or even a walk through the grocery store. People see us walking around with the carrier and comment on how happy Megan looks in it. Well, she is! And from what I've read about attachment parenting, happy babies, learn better and fuss less. Everyone says how calm and well adjusted our baby seems to be. I can attribute some of that with the ability to be physically close to her and still be able to do the daily errands and household work that needs to be done. Plus - I get to look good doing it all - not that that is a high priority, but it's just nice to know that you can be a mom of a little baby and still feel like a DIVA!
The Mei Tai is much more comfortable than the other baby carriers with straps and clips that hurt my shoulders. It's also very beautiful and quite easy to use. There is a picture of me and Megan on our recent trip to the Dominican Republic using the Mei Tai. It is very comfortable to use on long walks and strolls down the beach. Mostly I wear Megan on the front of my body in this carrier because she's not used to being on my back yet. We'll get there though. I am sure I'll be wearing my babe on my back with ease in no time. Thank you Tonjia for helping bring out my inner Diva!!
